I had a drive failure in one of my servers. This server had 2 drives identical in size setup with mirroring via disk management.

I replaced the drive exactly via model number.
I put the drive in, made both dynamic, but now I notice the new drive shows up as about 100mb less then the other drive, and as a result, will not let me mirror.

How do I get the full space of the drive back?

As of now with the primary drive marked as Dynamic, if the system goes down, its my understanding it will not boot. Has anyone ran into this before?

If anyone runs into this, run killdisk on the drive. The machine installed a windows recovery partition. Cleared that and able to mirror.
