We just recently upgraded from SBS 2000 to SBS 2003. We are looking for not
just a good, but great antivirus software. We are NOT pleased with what
Norton does, and does not have to offer. Im positive there are alternatives
out there, im just not sure what one to go with. Would someone be able to
help me and let me know of some good options to look at? The server we are
putting is our main directory server, as well as our exchange server, so
whatever software we put on there, needs to be good.

Thanks for you help!

When you say you want a good antivirus package - what is good for you? Good
for me (after the horror that was Macafee TVD) is ease of use, spam
filtering and 'load it and let it get on with it' simplicity. You may want
something that you can control every last facet of operation with unlimited
reports detailing how many types of viruses you stoped in the last 6 months.
Most antivirus engines are very good and you'd be hard pressed to prove one
is better than another (at least in large brand products at any rate).

I just got Sophos Small Business Suite Edition and it does everything I want
with minimum fuss. It doesn't take hours to set up and doesn't need constant
maintenance like some other packages, it just gets on with it. Not too
expensive either and the anti-spam enigine works well too.

Hi Keith,

We took the advice of many here and purchased Trend C/S/M Suite for SMB.
Excellent value for money and for us at least, it has been rock-solid.

We bought ours through a reseller here in Canada and have been VERY pleased
with both the product and service. Administration has been very simple.

Hi Keith. If you don't mind me asking what did you find wrong with the
Symantec software ? We run Symantec Enterprise suite with Mail Security 4.5
for AV & Spam Filtering for Exchange, and AV Client on both Workstations and
Servers and have been very happy with it.

'Norton' is normally associated with the home editions of their software,
are you possibly using the home edition software in an enterprise
environment ?
